🇩🇿Tourist visa information for Algerian passport holders

Singapore Visa for Algerian Citizens

An Algerian passport needs a Singapore visa before the trip. This page works through ICA’s document list, the translation options for records kept in Arabic or French, the routes for submitting from Algeria or from another country, and what a decision does and does not settle.

  • From $130 USD

    Quoted per traveller

Every amount combines the government visa fee with our service charge, stated in US dollars.

  • 5–7 working days · 3–5 days

    Normal and express

Our two service estimates sit in the processing section, kept apart from ICA’s own figure.

  • Choose an entry type

Ask for single, double or multiple entry. The final grant is a matter for the authorities.

  • Arabic and French records

A record that is not in English needs an official translation by one of the routes ICA lists.

Singapore entry rules for an Algerian passport

Algeria appears on ICA’s list of places whose travel documents need a visa for Singapore. ICA’s Algeria page puts it simply: if you hold a travel document issued by Algeria, you need a visa to enter. Where you live does not change that. A traveller based in Algiers and one living in Lyon or Dubai on the same passport face the same requirement, although they may submit through different routes.

ICA’s Algeria page mentions no exemption by passport type and sets no extra conditions for Algerian documents. If your document is not an ordinary passport, raise it with ICA before planning around this page. ICA also notes that each visa application is considered on its own merits.

Our part is preparation and submission. We organise the file, check it, and send it through a route ICA permits. The decision on the visa, and on entry at the border, is made by the Singapore authorities.

Where we help

  • A checklist drawn from ICA

Each item names its source, so you can tell an ICA requirement from one of our own standards.

  • Translation check

We compare each translated record with its original for names, dates and reference numbers before it goes in.

  • Route to submission

When the file is complete, we submit it through the route that fits it.

  • Decision by email

An approved visa is issued as an e-Visa and reaches you electronically at the address on the file.

The rules themselves are short. The effort goes into the paperwork: identifying which records need translating, choosing a translation route ICA accepts, and keeping the spelling of every name consistent from one document to the next.

Who can use this page

This page is written for holders of ordinary Algerian passports. The groups below show how the same ICA requirements play out in different situations. None of them changes the requirement itself, and none predicts a decision.

  • Passport holders in Algeria

ICA lists two kinds of route: the e-Service, used by a strategic partner or a local contact, and a Singapore Overseas Mission or its authorised visa agent. Check on the mission’s website which mission serves your location before relying on the second route.

  • Algerians living abroad

Your residence does not lift the visa requirement. If you intend to use a Singapore Overseas Mission, ICA says to check that mission’s own website for its procedure.

  • Visitors with a contact in Singapore

The letter of introduction (Form V39A) can come from a local contact who holds Singapore citizenship or permanent residence, is 21 or older and has a Singpass account. For a business visit, that contact must act for the Singapore-registered business.

  • Visitors without a local contact letter

ICA’s Algeria page says a letter issued by your Embassy can be accepted if you cannot obtain one from a local contact, for social and business visits.

ICA’s rules

  • A travel document issued by Algeria needs a visa for entry to Singapore.
  • The passport whose biodata page you copy must be valid for six months or more from your date of entry.
  • ICA advises submitting within the 30 days before arrival.
  • Each application is considered on its own merits, and ICA may need more than three working days for some.

Our standards

  • A hotel booking and confirmed travel bookings that meet our checklist.
  • Our prices and the estimates shown on this page.
  • The review we carry out before submission.
  • Our cancellation and refund terms.

Preparing to our standard reduces back-and-forth, but the decision is not ours and entry is never assured.

What goes into an Algerian visa file

The first four items are ICA’s requirements for a business or social visit. The fifth depends on your situation. The last is our own standard. ICA also asks for originals alongside copies for it to retain.

  1. ICA requirement

    Form 14A

Completed and signed by you. ICA decides the application on what you declare here, so it should agree with your passport and your plans.

  2. ICA requirement

    Biodata page photocopy

A copy of the page with your photograph and personal details. The passport must remain valid for at least six months from the day you enter Singapore.

  3. ICA requirement

    Colour photograph

Passport-sized, in colour, and taken within the last three months. The photo section further down covers what we look for.

  4. ICA requirement where a record is not in English

    Official translations

An Arabic birth certificate or a French employment letter, for example, needs an official English translation, submitted with the original.

ICA accepts a translation made by the embassy of the country that issued the record, or by a notary public in Singapore or in that country. It also accepts a private translation if that embassy attests it or such a notary notarises it. ICA does not endorse any private translation company.

  5. Conditional · ICA procedure

    Form V39A letter of introduction

Issued by a local contact in Singapore where one is used. If you cannot obtain one from a local contact, ICA’s page says an Embassy-issued letter can be accepted.

  6. Our submission standard

    Accommodation and travel bookings

A hotel reservation of no fewer than three nights, at a three-star or higher hotel, and confirmed bookings into and out of Singapore. Holiday rentals such as Airbnb, and invitations to stay with friends or a company, are outside our standard and are not accepted in place of the hotel booking.

Our requirements page shows a labelled biodata page and a sample photograph framed the right way.

ICA can ask for more on any file, and a single paper on its own does not decide the result.

Service prices in US dollars

We quote one all-inclusive amount per applicant in US dollars. It covers the ICA government visa fee and our professional service charge together, and the government portion is not listed on its own. The table gives the normal and express price for each entry type.

Singapore tourist visa fees in US dollars for Algerian passport holders, by requested entry type and service

Single-entry$130 USD$180 USD
Double-entry$140 USD$190 USD
Multiple-entry$170 USD$220 USD

Notes on the table

  • A family of four pays four prices: each person has an application.
  • The entry type in the table is what you ask for. What is granted, and for how long, is set by the Singapore authorities.
  • These are final service prices, not a breakdown of government charges.

How long the process takes

Two different clocks are involved. ICA publishes its own processing statement for applications once they are submitted. Separately, our service has a normal and an express estimate, which run from the point your file is complete and checked. Neither is a promise of a finishing date.

Normal service

Our service estimate

5–7 working days

Suited to applicants whose translations are already in hand.

Express service

Our service estimate

3–5 days

Shortens our own handling time for a higher price. ICA’s processing is not affected by the option you choose.

  • ICA’s statement

ICA says an application is processed within three working days, not counting the day it is submitted, and that some applications take longer.

  • Translations take time

Arranging a notarised or embassy translation can take time, so start it well ahead of the 30-day window ICA recommends.

  • Follow-up questions

A request for more information from ICA or from our review adds to the overall time.

Steps from Algeria or abroad

ICA accepts applications through its e-Service, made by a strategic partner or a local contact, or at the nearest Singapore Overseas Mission or its authorised visa agent. Our part of the sequence runs as follows.

  1. Step 1

    Sort the records

List every document you will submit and mark the ones in Arabic or French that need an official translation.

  2. Step 2

    Arrange translations and any letter

Choose an accepted translation route and, where relevant, ask your local contact for Form V39A.

  3. Step 3

    Fill in the application

One application per traveller, completed with the names exactly as they appear in the passport.

  4. Step 4

Upload and wait for our check

Upload the scans and photograph. If something needs to change, we tell you by email.

  5. Step 5

    Pay for your service level

The price shown in the application depends on the entry type and the service option you select.

  6. Step 6

    Submission and decision

We submit the checked file through the applicable route. An approval arrives as an e-Visa by email. A refusal is passed on to you when we receive it.

Keep a set of copies of everything submitted, together with our emails, for the journey.

Passport page and photo standards

ICA sets the passport validity rule and the photograph requirement in its own words. The other points listed here are our checks, there to keep the file from coming back.

ICA requirement

Passport

Work out the date six months after your planned arrival and make sure the passport is still valid on that date.

Copy the biodata page in full, with the machine-readable lines at the bottom intact and nothing cropped.

Keep the original passport for travel and keep the originals of any translated records, because ICA asks for originals alongside copies.

ICA requirement

Photograph

A recent, passport-sized colour photo taken within the last three months. We also check for the following:

  • Taken within the last three months.
  • A plain, light background.
  • Face fully visible, looking straight at the camera.
  • No filters or editing that changes how you look.
  • Sharp focus, without glare on glasses or shadows across the face.

What the visa does and does not decide

A visa is one decision among several. The questions of how long you may stay, and whether you are admitted at all, are answered later and by different people.

Using the visa

The visa’s validity period is the time within which you can use it to travel to Singapore and present yourself for entry.

The length of your stay

The number of days you may remain is decided at the checkpoint and written onto your electronic Visit Pass. It does not follow the visa’s own dates.

Admission

Officers at the checkpoint decide whether to admit you. An approved visa permits the journey; it does not guarantee entry.

Passing through Singapore

Algeria is not among the nationalities named in ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility, so this page describes no transit arrangement. Ask ICA before booking a connection that leaves the transit area.

Couples, parents and children

A family trip still means one application per person. It is easiest to build each traveller’s file separately and then compare them.

  • One file per traveller

Each spouse and each child has an application and pays the per-applicant price.

  • A passport for each child

ICA requires individually issued travel documents, so a child travels on a passport of their own rather than on a parent’s.

  • Translated family records

If you include a family record written in Arabic or French, it needs an official translation through one of the routes ICA accepts.

  • Matching itineraries

When the family travels together, the hotel booking and travel dates in each file should line up with the others.

File errors worth catching early

These are the checks we run before submission. They are about preparing a clean file, not about guessing ICA’s reasoning, which it does not generally publish.

  1. Names spelled two ways

A name written in Arabic script can appear with different Latin spellings in different documents. Use the spelling printed in the passport throughout.

  2. A translation without an accepted route

A translation must come from, or be attested or notarised by, one of the sources ICA names. An informal translation is not enough.

  3. Dates changed in translation

Dates can shift between formats and languages during translation. Check every date in a translation against the original record.

  4. A passport that runs out too soon

Six months from entry is the test. Renew the passport before applying if it falls short.

  5. A missing letter of introduction

Where Form V39A is needed, arrange it with your local contact before you submit, or ask whether an Embassy letter applies.

  6. Bookings that disagree

The hotel nights, the travel bookings and the dates on the application should all describe one trip.

Cancellation and refunds at a glance

Our tourist visa refund rules are summarised below. The Refund Policy page has the full text.

Before submission to ICA

Cancelling before we submit

If you cancel before we submit your application to ICA, a cancellation fee of USD $50 applies per applicant and application.

The fee is deducted from the amount you paid, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law.

After submission to ICA

Once the application is submitted

After submission to ICA, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

A refusal does not by itself make a submitted application refundable.

If you believe a payment was duplicated or charged incorrectly, contact us so that we can review it. Legally required refunds and billing errors are handled separately.

Nothing in these rules limits statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.

Algerian applicants ask

Short answers for Algerian passport holders. Each one says whether it comes from ICA or from our own practice.

Is a visa required on an Algerian passport?

Yes. According to ICA’s Algeria page, a travel document issued by Algeria requires a visa for entry to Singapore.

The page does not set out any exemption. Raise any non-ordinary passport with ICA directly.

View the requirements

My employment letter is in French. Does it need translating?

Yes. ICA asks for an official English translation of any document that is not in English, submitted with the original.

Accepted routes are a translation by the issuing country’s embassy or by a notary public in Singapore or that country, or a private translation attested by that embassy or notarised by such a notary.

I live outside Algeria. Can I still apply?

The requirement follows the passport, not your place of residence. You can submit through the e-Service with a strategic partner or local contact, or at a Singapore Overseas Mission, checking that mission’s website for its procedure.

I do not know anyone in Singapore. What about the letter of introduction?

Form V39A may be needed case by case. Where a local contact letter cannot be obtained, ICA’s Algeria page allows a letter issued by your Embassy instead. Confirm with ICA how this applies to your application.

How quickly does ICA decide?

ICA states three working days, excluding the day of submission, while noting that some applications take longer. Our normal and express estimates cover our own work and are separate from that statement.

Can I transit through Singapore without a visa?

ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility does not include Algeria, so this page does not describe one. Check with ICA before booking a connection through Singapore.

Do I need an SG Arrival Card as well?

Yes, unless one of ICA’s narrow exemptions applies. It is a separate online declaration made in the three days before arrival, it costs nothing to submit, and it is not a visa.

About the SG Arrival Card

Does the visa set how many days I can stay?

No. The permitted stay is decided on arrival and shown on your electronic Visit Pass.

Can I reuse an older passport photo?

Only if it was taken within the last three months. ICA asks for a recent colour photograph.

View the photo sample

What if I need to cancel?

Before submission to ICA, a USD $50 cancellation fee applies per applicant and application, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law. After submission, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
