🇪🇬Tourist visa information for Egyptian passport holders
Egyptian passports need a Singapore visa, with one exception that ICA states for diplomatic passports. This guide sets out the documents ICA lists, how Arabic records are translated, the routes for submitting from Egypt or from the Gulf and elsewhere, and what happens after a decision.

Service timing
Our normal and express estimates are listed below, separate from ICA’s own published timing.
Requested entry type
Ask for single, double or multiple entry. Whatever is issued is decided by the Singapore authorities.
Arabic-language records
Any record that is not in English goes in with an official translation from a source ICA accepts.
Egypt is one of the places on ICA’s visa-required list, and ICA’s Egypt page applies that to any travel document issued by Egypt. A holiday, a family visit and a short business trip all start from the same point: a visa has to be approved before you travel.
There is one stated exception. ICA’s Egypt page says that holders of diplomatic passports do not need a visa for entry. The page does not extend that to official or service passports, so if you hold one of those, ask ICA rather than assume you are exempt. Everything below is written for ordinary passports.
We help assemble the file and lodge it by a route ICA recognises. The visa decision, and the decision to admit you on landing, belong to the Singapore authorities.
Each document is tagged as something ICA lists, something that depends on your circumstances, or a standard we apply ourselves.
Arabic originals are compared with their English translations, and every name is checked against the Latin spelling in the passport.
Once checked, the file goes to ICA through whichever channel fits it.
An approval arrives as an e-Visa in the inbox named on your application.
The rules for an Egyptian passport are brief. The preparation time goes into translations and into matching the English spelling of names across documents written in Arabic, so those deserve attention first.
This page is for ordinary Egyptian passport holders planning a social or tourist visit. The situations below show how ICA’s requirements apply. They are not an indication of how an application will be decided.
You need a visa, and every section below is written for you.
ICA’s Egypt page states that diplomatic passports do not need a visa for entry. Official and service passports are not mentioned in that sentence.
Whether you live in Cairo, Dubai or Riyadh, the requirement follows the Egyptian passport. Your location changes which submission route is practical, not whether a visa is needed.
Form V39A may be signed by a local contact: a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, 21 or older, registered with Singpass. Where nobody local can provide it, ICA’s Egypt page also accepts a letter from your Embassy.
Meeting our standards makes the file easier to review. It does not decide the outcome or guarantee entry.
The first items are the ones ICA lists for a business or social visit. Conditional items follow. The final item is our own standard, not an ICA rule.
ICA requirement
Your declarations in this form are the basis of ICA’s assessment, and ICA may ask to see the signed copy. Keep the original safe.
ICA requirement
The page carrying your photograph and personal details, from a passport with six months or more of validity remaining at entry.
ICA requirement
Passport-sized, in colour and taken within three months of the application.
ICA requirement for non-English records
A birth certificate, marriage certificate or employment letter in Arabic is submitted together with an official English translation.
ICA recognises three sources: the issuing country’s embassy, a notary public (in Singapore or the issuing country), or a private translator whose work that embassy attests or such a notary notarises. ICA says it endorses no private translation business.
Conditional · ICA procedure
Needed only in some cases. A local contact normally issues it, and a business-visit letter must come from someone acting for the Singapore-registered business. Failing a local letter, ICA’s Egypt page accepts one from your Embassy.
Our submission standard
A hotel stay of three nights or more, at three-star level or higher, plus confirmed transport into and out of Singapore. Under our standard, short-let rentals such as Airbnb and stays with friends, relatives or a company do not replace the hotel reservation.
Annotated examples of a passport biodata page and a properly taken photograph are shown on our requirements page.

Our prices are stated in US dollars, one figure per applicant. Each one includes the ICA government visa fee and our professional service charge; the government fee is not quoted separately. The table shows normal and express prices by entry type.

Two timings matter. ICA publishes how long it takes to process an application once it is submitted. We publish estimates for our own normal and express handling, counted from when your file is complete. Neither is a guaranteed date.
Our service estimate
5–7 working days
Works well when translations are already prepared before you start.
Our service estimate
3–5 days
A shorter estimate for our handling, at a higher price. ICA’s own processing time stays the same.
Three working days from submission, not counting the submission day itself, according to ICA. Some applications take longer.
ICA’s advice is to apply no more than 30 days ahead of arrival. Have translations finished before then so nothing holds the file up.
If ICA or our review needs another document, add the time it takes to obtain it.
ICA accepts applications online, lodged by a strategic partner or local contact on its e-Service, or at a Singapore Overseas Mission or with that mission’s authorised visa agent; each mission’s website gives its procedure. Our own sequence runs as follows.
Step 1
Make sure the passport is an ordinary one and runs at least six months past your planned arrival.
Step 2
Identify each Arabic record you will include and obtain an accepted English translation.
Step 3
Write each name exactly as the passport prints it in Latin letters.
Step 4
We check the scans, the translations and the bookings against one another, and email you about anything to fix.
Step 5
The application shows the price for the entry type and service option you choose.
Step 6
We submit the file. You receive an approval as an e-Visa by email; ICA adds that whoever lodged it through the e-Service (local contact, strategic partner or authorised agent) can print a copy.
Keep digital copies of everything submitted and the emails about your file in one place you can reach while travelling.
Apply OnlineICA states the six-month validity rule and the photograph requirement directly. The other checks below are ours.
ICA requirement
Take your arrival date, add six months, and confirm the passport is still valid on the resulting date.
Scan the biodata page flat and uncropped, so that the passport number, both dates and the two machine-readable lines can be read.
If you renewed your passport recently, use the new number on the form and on every booking.
ICA requirement
ICA wants a colour, passport-sized photo no more than three months old. Our review also covers:
An approved e-Visa answers one question: may you travel to Singapore and ask to enter? The questions that follow are answered at the airport.
Within its validity, it lets you make the journey and present yourself to immigration. Carry a copy with your passport.
How many days you may stay is the immigration officer’s call, entered on your electronic Visit Pass rather than taken from the visa.
The decision to admit you is made at the checkpoint. An approved visa does not guarantee entry.
ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility does not list Egypt, and no transit arrangement is offered here. Before planning to leave the airport between flights, check with ICA.
A family travelling together still submits one application per person. Keeping the files aligned saves corrections later.
Spouses and children each have an application, priced per applicant.
ICA requires individually issued travel documents, so each child travels on their own passport.
If you include a birth or marriage certificate in Arabic, it needs an official English translation by one of the routes ICA accepts.
Hotel nights, flights and dates should match across all of the family’s applications.
We check for these before any submission. ICA does not generally explain its decisions, so these are points of preparation, not explanations of outcomes.
Arabic names have more than one common Latin spelling, such as Mohamed, Mohammed or Muhammad. Use the passport’s spelling on every form, booking and translation.
We check that stamps, seals and handwritten notes on an Arabic record are reflected in its translation, so that the two documents match.
ICA’s Egypt page names diplomatic passports only. Check with ICA before relying on an exemption for an official or service passport.
Count six months forward from arrival; if the passport ends before then, renew it before applying.
Names, passport numbers and dates in Form V39A should match the application exactly.
If a flight or hotel changes, update the file or tell us, so that the application still describes the actual trip.
In short, these are our tourist visa refund rules; the Refund Policy page has them in full.
Before submission to ICA
If you cancel before we submit your application to ICA, a cancellation fee of USD $50 applies per applicant and application.
The fee is deducted from the amount you paid, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law.
After submission to ICA
After submission to ICA, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
A refusal does not by itself make a submitted application refundable.
If you believe a payment was duplicated or charged incorrectly, contact us so that we can review it. Legally required refunds and billing errors are handled separately.
Nothing in these rules limits statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.
Answers for Egyptian passport holders, each based either on ICA’s Egypt page or on our own practice, as stated in the answer.
On an ordinary passport, yes. ICA’s Egypt page requires a visa for travel documents issued by Egypt and exempts diplomatic passport holders.
ICA’s Egypt page names only diplomatic passports in its exemption. It does not say that official or service passports are exempt, so ask ICA about your document before travelling.
Living in the Gulf does not alter the visa requirement. You can go through ICA’s e-Service with a strategic partner or local contact, or approach a Singapore Overseas Mission, whose own website describes how it handles applications.
ICA accepts translations made by the embassy of the issuing country or by a notary public in Singapore or the issuing country. It also accepts a private translation once that embassy has attested it or such a notary has notarised it.
It is worth correcting. Our review compares every booking with the passport, and the safest course is to use the passport’s spelling everywhere in the file.
Yes, as a fallback. ICA’s Egypt page accepts an Embassy-issued letter for social and business visits when no local contact can supply one.
ICA publishes a figure of three working days, leaving out the submission day, and warns that some cases run longer. Separately, our normal and express estimates cover only our own handling.
ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility lists other nationalities, not Egypt, so this page offers no stopover route. Confirm with ICA before you book.
No. It is a separate declaration that costs nothing and is required of all travellers bar narrow exemptions; it can be filed from three days before arrival up to the arrival day itself.
Before submission to ICA, a USD $50 cancellation fee applies per applicant and application, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law. After submission, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
Confirm your passport type and expiry, arrange translations of any Arabic records, and look over the prices and estimates before you begin.
