What a Singapore tourist visa means for Indian travellers

This page is for people who hold an ordinary Indian passport and plan a short tourist visit to Singapore. It explains when a visa is needed, which documents to gather, how processing is estimated and how a visa differs from the SG Arrival Card, which every traveller must submit separately.

Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) lists India among the countries whose travel documents require a visa to enter Singapore. Some Indian nationals may be eligible for a limited visa-free transit arrangement, which has its own conditions. Entry rules can change, so please confirm the current position with ICA before you commit to non-refundable travel.

We help you prepare your documents and follow the application steps. Singapore’s authorities decide every visa application and every entry, and nothing on this page promises approval.

What our service covers

  • Requirements guidance

A checklist of documents and details for each traveller, written for people who have not applied for a Singapore visa before.

  • Document review

We check that names, dates and passport details agree across your documents, and we contact you by email when something needs correcting.

  • Submission

Once your application is complete and verified, we submit it through the applicable Singapore visa channel.

  • Outcome

If the visa is approved, the Singapore e-Visa is sent electronically to the email address on your application.

Most avoidable delays come from small details: a passport close to expiry, a name spelled differently in two documents, or travel dates that do not match. Reviewing these early leaves time to correct anything before you travel.

Who this page applies to

This guide covers ordinary Indian passports. Eligibility depends on the travel document you actually hold, so read the groups below and the ICA rules before you assume anything about your own situation.

  • Ordinary Indian passport holders

A valid Indian passport issued to you as an individual is the document this page is about. If you hold a diplomatic, official or service passport, or another type of travel document, check the position with ICA before you rely on this page.

  • Adult travellers

Every adult completes a separate application and provides their own documents, even when travelling with family or friends.

  • Children

A child who needs a visa has an individual application, an individual passport and their own records. A parent or guardian prepares the child’s details and photograph.

  • Families and groups

A family can gather its documents together, but each person needs their own application, and each set of details must match that person’s passport.

Set by Singapore (ICA)

  • Every traveller must hold a valid travel document that was issued to them individually. Collective travel documents are not accepted.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your intended date of arrival in Singapore.
  • ICA generally advises applying within 30 days before your arrival in Singapore.
  • The decision to grant a visa, and the decision to admit you at the checkpoint, rest with the Singapore authorities.

Set by our service

  • Our document checklist, including the hotel and travel-booking standards described below.
  • The fee and processing information shown on this page.
  • Our cancellation and refund rules.
  • The application steps set out further down this page.

Meeting our checklist helps us prepare a complete application. It does not guarantee that a visa will be granted, and it does not decide whether you will be admitted on arrival.

Documents to prepare

Gather these items before you start. Each one is labelled to show whether it comes from ICA’s entry requirements or from our own submission standard. Additional documents may be requested depending on your circumstances.

  1. Our service requirement

A completed application for each traveller

Every traveller, including each child, completes a separate application. The names, dates and passport number entered must match the passport exactly.

  2. Based on ICA entry requirements

    Passport biodata page

A clear, full-colour scan of the passport biodata page, showing your photograph, full name, passport number and dates.

The passport must be valid for at least six months from your intended arrival date. If it expires sooner, renew it before you apply.

  3. Our service requirement

    Hotel reservation

A confirmed reservation covering at least three nights of your planned stay. For applications processed through our service, we accept hotels rated three stars or higher.

We do not accept Airbnb bookings or private invitations in place of a hotel reservation. This is our own submission standard.

  4. Our service requirement

    Travel itinerary

Confirmed inbound and outbound bookings, such as flight or rail reservations, showing your planned arrival in and departure from Singapore.

If you plan to pass through Singapore to another destination, keep the onward booking with your documents. The transit section below explains the conditions.

  5. Our service requirement · depends on your circumstances

    Employment or business documents

If you are employed, a recent employment certificate or a letter from your employer confirming your position.

If you are self-employed or run a business, a relevant business registration document or trade licence.

  6. Photo must meet ICA requirements

    Recent colour passport photograph

A recent colour photograph for each applicant that clearly shows the face and meets the applicable Singapore visa photograph requirements. The rules are set out in the passport and photograph section below.

Annotated samples of a passport biodata page and a correctly framed passport photograph are on our requirements page.

No single document guarantees approval. Singapore’s authorities consider each application on its own facts and may ask for more information.

Singapore visa fees for Indian passport holders

Our fees are stated in US dollars (USD) per applicant. Each amount is all-inclusive: it covers the ICA government visa fee and our professional service charge, and the two are not shown as separate amounts. The table shows the normal and express options for each entry type.

Singapore tourist visa fees in US dollars for Indian passport holders, by requested entry type and service
Requested entry typeNormal service5–7 working daysExpress service3–5 days
Single-entry$130 USD$180 USD
Double-entry$140 USD$190 USD
Multiple-entry$170 USD$220 USD

USD per applicant

How to read these fees

  • Fees are per applicant. Every traveller, including each child, has their own application.
  • The entry type is the type you request. The Singapore authorities decide the entry type, validity and conditions of any visa they grant, and choosing a particular entry type does not guarantee that it will be granted.
  • The amounts shown are the final prices for this service. The government fee and our service charge are not listed as separate amounts.

Normal and express processing

We offer two service options. Each one is an estimate of how long our processing takes once your application is complete. An estimate is not a guaranteed completion date.

Normal service

Estimated processing time

5–7 working days

The standard option for travellers who have planned ahead and have their documents ready.

Express service

Estimated processing time

3–5 days

A shorter estimated timeframe for travellers with a tighter schedule, at a higher price. It describes our service option and does not require ICA to decide faster.

  • Start early

The estimate begins once your application is complete. If a document needs correcting, the timeline waits for you. ICA generally advises applying within 30 days before arrival, so gather your documents early and agree a submission date with us.

  • Estimates are not guarantees

Actual processing times vary with each application and with immigration requirements. Some applications take longer than the estimate, and requests for additional documents extend the overall timeline.

How the application process works

These steps follow the same order for every application we handle. Read them before you start, so you know what to prepare and when.

  1. Step 1

    Prepare your documents

Gather your passport scan, photograph, hotel reservation, travel itinerary and any employment or business documents, using the checklist above.

  2. Step 2

Complete an application for each traveller

Each traveller has a separate application. Upload the documents, check every detail against the passport and confirm that names and dates match across every document.

  3. Step 3

    Pay the fee

Pay the fee for the service option you selected, as shown in the application.

  4. Step 4

    Our review

We review the information and documents. If a correction or an additional document is needed, we contact you by email at the address on your application.

  5. Step 5

    Processing and outcome

When the application is complete and verified, we process it and submit it through the applicable Singapore visa channel. If the visa is approved, the e-Visa is sent electronically to your email address.

Each application follows the checklist and fee information on this page. Read the requirements page before you begin, and keep a copy of everything you submit.

Preparing your passport and photograph

Most avoidable delays begin with the passport scan or the photograph, so check both carefully before you apply. The passport point comes from ICA’s entry requirements, and the photograph rules follow our checklist.

Based on ICA entry requirements

Your passport

Compare the expiry date with your planned arrival date. You need at least six months’ validity from your intended arrival in Singapore, so renew early if necessary.

Send a sharp, uncropped scan of the biodata page. The name, passport number and dates must be easy to read.

Keep your original passport with you when you travel. Your application uses the digital scan.

Photo must meet ICA requirements

Your photograph

A photograph that does not match the requirements is a frequent cause of delay. Use one taken for this application, with these points in mind:

  • A recent colour photograph, taken within the last three months.
  • A plain white background.
  • Full face visible and facing forward, with eyes open and facial features unobstructed.
  • A clear, sharp image with a natural appearance and head-and-shoulders framing.
  • No beauty filters, AI-generated facial reconstruction or substantial digital alteration.

Visa validity, permitted stay and transit

Visa dates and the length of your stay are different things. Transit has its own conditions as well, and they are not the same as the conditions for a tourist visa.

Visa validity

A visa’s validity is the window in which it can be used to travel to Singapore and seek entry. It is not the length of time you may stay.

Permitted stay

Immigration officers decide how long you may remain when you arrive. That period is shown on your electronic Visit Pass and is separate from the visa’s validity dates.

Entry is not guaranteed

An approved visa does not guarantee entry. Immigration officers make the final decision at the checkpoint and may ask about onward travel and funds for your stay.

Transit through Singapore

ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility may be available to some Indian nationals travelling to or from a third country via Singapore. It is limited to 96 hours, cannot be extended and has further conditions, which are set out in the questions below.

Applying as a family

Travelling with children or relatives is common. Applications are always individual, so treat your family’s documents as a set of separate files.

  • One application for each traveller

Each person who needs a visa, including every child, has their own application and their own fee.

  • Individual travel documents

Every traveller, including children, holds a valid passport issued to them individually. A child cannot be added to a parent’s passport or application.

  • Documents can differ

The supporting evidence depends on each person’s circumstances. Employment or business documents apply to working adults. We may ask for extra documents to explain a child’s travel arrangements or confirm the relationship with the accompanying adults.

  • Cancellation is per application

If you cancel before we submit to ICA, the cancellation fee applies to each applicant and each application, including children.

Common application mistakes

These are preparation points to check before you submit. They are not a list of reasons for refusal, which ICA does not generally disclose.

  1. Names that do not match the passport

Check spelling, initials and the order of names against the biodata page. A single letter’s difference between documents can cause a query.

  2. A passport close to expiry

Count six months forward from your arrival date, not from the day you apply. If the passport falls short, renew it first.

  3. Confusing the visa with the SG Arrival Card

The visa and the SG Arrival Card are separate. The card is not a visa, and submitting it does not replace one. Each has its own timing.

  4. An unsuitable photograph

Filters, an old picture or digital alteration can make a photograph unsuitable. Use a recent photograph taken for this application.

  5. Dates that do not agree

Your hotel nights, travel bookings and the dates you enter should tell the same story. Check them against each other before you submit.

  6. Planning transit without the conditions

Transit has a time limit, an onward booking requirement and eligibility conditions. Check them before you book.

Cancellation and refund rules

These are the rules for tourist visa applications. They are summarised here, and the full policy is on our Refund Policy page.

Before submission to ICA

Cancelling before we submit

If you cancel before we submit your application to ICA, a cancellation fee of USD $50 applies per applicant and application.

The fee is deducted from the amount you paid, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law.

After submission to ICA

Once the application is submitted

After the application has been submitted to ICA, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

A refusal does not by itself qualify a submitted application for a refund.

If you believe a payment was duplicated or charged incorrectly, contact us so we can review it. Legally required refunds and billing errors are assessed separately.

Nothing in these rules limits statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Frequently asked questions from Indian applicants

Short answers to questions we expect from Indian passport holders. They are consistent with the requirements, fee and refund information on this website.

Do Indian citizens need a visa for Singapore?

ICA lists India among the countries whose travel documents require a visa to enter Singapore.

This page covers ordinary Indian passports. Other types of travel document should be checked with ICA. Rules can change, so confirm the current position before you finalise travel.

View the requirements

Can I pass through Singapore without a visa?

ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility names nationals of India among those who may be eligible when travelling to or from a third country via Singapore. Eligibility is not automatic, and ICA officers assess entry on arrival.

The facility is limited to 96 hours and does not allow an extension. You need a valid onward ticket departing Singapore within that period, and departure may be by air or sea.

You also need a valid visa or long-term pass from a listed country, valid for at least one month from entry. The listed countries include Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Compare with the SG Arrival Card

What documents do I need?

You need a full-colour scan of your passport biodata page, a recent colour photograph, a hotel reservation of at least three nights, confirmed travel bookings and, if you are employed or self-employed, an employment or business document.

Additional documents may be requested depending on your circumstances.

How much does a Singapore tourist visa cost for Indian citizens?

Our fees are listed in USD per applicant in the fee table above. Each amount includes the ICA government visa fee and our professional service charge, and the two are not shown separately.

View the fee schedule

Will I receive the entry type I request?

Not necessarily. You choose single, double or multiple entry when you apply, but the Singapore authorities decide the entry type, validity and conditions of any visa they grant.

Choosing a particular entry type does not guarantee that it will be granted.

Can my child apply for a Singapore visa?

Yes. A child who needs a visa has an individual application and an individual passport. A parent or guardian prepares the child’s details and photograph and may be asked about the child’s travel arrangements.

Do I also need the SG Arrival Card?

ICA’s requirement for the SG Arrival Card applies to all travellers, with narrow exemptions. The card is separate from a visa. It is not a visa and does not replace one.

ICA states that submitting the card is free of charge and that it does not support or endorse commercial services that charge a fee to submit it. Our separate assistance service for the card is optional.

About the SG Arrival Card

Can I cancel my application?

Yes, subject to our rules. Before we submit your application to ICA, a cancellation fee of USD $50 applies per applicant and application, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law.

After submission to ICA, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
