🇯🇴Visa guidance for Jordanian passport holders

Singapore Visa for Jordanian Citizens

Whether a Jordanian traveller needs a Singapore visa depends on the type of passport. ICA exempts diplomatic, official and service passports, while ordinary passports need a visa approved before travel. Here is what that application involves, from the three core documents to the photograph, the timing and the arrival formalities.

  • From $130 USD

    One price per applicant

A US dollar total per traveller; the government’s visa charge and our professional fee are already inside it.

  • 5–7 working days · 3–5 days

    Our handling time

Choose normal or express handling; ICA’s processing time is shown separately.

  • Entries requested

You may ask for single, double or multiple entry. ICA decides what is actually issued.

  • Passport type matters

Ordinary passports need a visa. Diplomatic, official and service passports do not, according to ICA.

Jordan on ICA’s visa list

ICA counts Jordan among the countries whose travellers need a Singapore visa. The rule applies to travel documents issued by Jordan, so a Jordanian ordinary passport needs an approved Singapore visa before the trip, whether the visit is a holiday, a family occasion or a short business meeting.

ICA’s Jordan page then makes a clear exception: holders of diplomatic, official and service passports do not need a visa for entry. That covers three passport categories, which is wider than the exemption ICA states for several other nationalities. If the passport you will use is one of those three, the application described on this page does not apply to you.

For ordinary passport holders, ICA’s core list is short: a signed Form 14A, a recent photograph and a copy of the biodata page. A letter of introduction is not part of that core list for Jordan. ICA may ask for it, or for other supporting documents, case by case.

We put the file together, check it and lodge it by a channel ICA recognises. Only the Singapore authorities can grant the visa or admit you at the border.

Where we help

  • Passport category check

We confirm at the start that the passport you will travel on is an ordinary Jordanian passport, the category that needs a visa.

  • Photo and scan quality

Your photograph and biodata copy are compared with ICA’s photo guidelines and our own image checklist.

  • Clear labelling

Every document is marked as an ICA requirement, an item ICA may request, or one of our own standards.

  • Submission and the result

We lodge the file through an accepted route and send you the outcome by email.

For an ordinary passport, preparation comes down to three things: confirm the passport type, get a compliant photograph, and keep the details identical across every document.

Which Jordanian passports need a visa

The visa question for Jordan turns on the passport category. The examples below apply ICA’s published statement to typical travellers. They are guidance, not a forecast of any decision.

  • Ordinary passport holders in Jordan

Whether you live in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa or Aqaba, an ordinary Jordanian passport needs a visa. This page is written for you.

  • Jordanians working in the Gulf or elsewhere

Your country of residence does not alter the rule. It only affects which submission route is most convenient, such as the Singapore Overseas Mission nearest to you.

  • Diplomatic, official and service passports

ICA’s Jordan page says that holders of all three do not need a visa for entry. The normal entry requirements at the checkpoint still apply.

  • Other Jordanian travel documents

ICA’s statement covers travel documents issued by Jordan and does not set out separate rules for different kinds of ordinary passport. If yours is not a standard ordinary passport, ask ICA how it is treated before applying.

  • Palestinian Authority passport holders

A Palestinian Authority passport is not a Jordanian document. ICA lists it separately as a travel document that needs a visa, so check ICA’s guidance for that document instead of this page.

ICA’s published position

  • Ordinary travel documents issued by Jordan require a visa for entry.
  • No visa is needed on a diplomatic, official or service passport.
  • Passports need six months’ remaining validity on the day of entry.
  • Form V39A and other supporting documents may be requested case by case.

Our own requirements

  • A hotel reservation and travel bookings that meet our checklist.
  • A photograph and passport scan that pass our image review.
  • The prices and service estimates on this page.
  • Our cancellation and refund terms.

Our requirements help us submit a tidy, consistent file. They do not influence ICA’s assessment and do not guarantee a visa or admission.

Documents for an ordinary Jordanian passport

ICA’s Jordan page lists three core documents. Below them are documents ICA can request in individual cases, and finally the booking standard we apply ourselves.

  1. ICA requirement

    Signed Form 14A

The application is decided on the information you declare in this form, and ICA may ask you to produce it. Complete it carefully, sign it, and keep the signed original.

  2. ICA requirement

    Recent colour photograph

A colour photo in passport format, no more than three months old, that follows ICA’s photo guidelines. The photo section further down explains those guidelines in detail.

  3. ICA requirement

    Biodata page photocopy

A clear copy of the data page, taken from a passport that will still be valid half a year after you enter Singapore.

  4. Case by case · ICA may request

    Letter of introduction (Form V39A)

ICA’s Jordan page gives Form V39A as an example of a supporting document that ICA can ask for in individual cases. It is not one of the three core items for Jordanian applicants.

The Jordan page does not describe who issues the letter. If ICA asks you for one, follow ICA’s instructions on who may sign it in your case.

  5. Case by case · Arabic-language records

    Supporting records in Arabic

Nothing on ICA’s Jordan page sets a translation requirement, and the three core items involve none.

If ICA requests a further document that is in Arabic, such as a family or employment record, confirm with ICA how it should be presented before paying for a translation.

  6. Our submission standard

    Accommodation and transport bookings

Our standard calls for a hotel booking of at least three nights at a property rated three stars or higher, with confirmed transport into and out of Singapore. A short-term rental, or staying in a private home, does not satisfy our hotel standard.

Sample images of a correctly scanned biodata page and a suitable photograph are on our requirements page.

ICA can ask for additional documents at any stage. The checklist is a starting point, not a guarantee of approval.

Visa prices for Jordanian passport holders

All prices are in US dollars and apply per applicant. Each figure includes the ICA government visa fee and our professional service charge; we do not list the government portion separately. Read across the table for normal and express service.

Singapore tourist visa fees in US dollars for Jordanian passport holders, by requested entry type and service

Single-entry$130 USD$180 USD
Double-entry$140 USD$190 USD
Multiple-entry$170 USD$220 USD

About these figures

  • Two friends travelling together each pay one applicant price.
  • A multiple-entry request is a request only; the Singapore authorities choose the entry type and validity they grant.
  • Every amount shown is our total price for the service, not a list of government fees.

Processing time and our handling estimates

ICA publishes its own processing time, counted from submission. Our normal and express figures show how long our own work takes after your documents are all in. Neither is a fixed date.

Normal service

Our estimate

5–7 working days

A good fit when you already have a compliant photograph and a passport with ample validity.

Express service

Our estimate

3–5 days

Faster handling on our side, at a higher price. It does not shorten ICA’s processing.

  • ICA’s published timeframe

Three working days, excluding the day the application is submitted. ICA adds that some applications take longer and that each is assessed on its merits.

  • Timing your submission

ICA recommends lodging the application in the 30 days before your arrival. Gather your documents earlier so that the file is ready when that period begins.

  • Case-by-case requests

If ICA asks for Form V39A or another document, the time to arrange it adds to the overall timeline.

How a Jordanian application moves forward

Online applications go through ICA’s e-Service and are filed by a strategic partner or by a local contact in Singapore. If you have no local contact with Singpass or Corppass, ICA points you to a visa agent authorised by a Singapore Overseas Mission, or to the nearest mission itself, which publishes its own procedure. Our steps are set out below.

  1. Step 1

    Identify your passport type

Check the cover and data page. An ordinary passport needs a visa; diplomatic, official and service passports do not.

  2. Step 2

    Check six months’ validity

Add six months to your arrival date; the expiry printed in the passport should fall after it.

  3. Step 3

    Take a compliant photograph

Follow ICA’s photo guidelines and keep a digital copy at the required size.

  4. Step 4

    Fill in Form 14A

Spell your name in Latin letters just as the passport does, in the same order.

  5. Step 5

    Review, then payment

Our team checks every document and writes to you if anything must change. The price you pay follows from the entry type and service you pick.

  6. Step 6

    Submission and outcome

We file the application. A successful outcome is an e-Visa, which, ICA explains, the filing party can print from the e-Service.

Save the e-Visa, your passport copy and our emails together, so that they are easy to show at check-in or on arrival.

Meeting ICA’s passport and photograph rules

Both the validity rule and the photo requirement come from ICA, and its photo guidelines add the technical points summarised below, which our review also checks.

ICA requirement

Passport

Six months of validity must remain from the day you enter Singapore. If your passport is close to that limit, renewing it first avoids a second application.

Photograph or scan the biodata page in good light, without cropping the edges, so that every field and the machine-readable zone can be read.

Use the same passport for the application, the bookings and the journey itself.

ICA requirement

Photograph

ICA bases its photo requirements on international ISO and ICAO specifications. Points from ICA’s guidelines and our own review:

  • Colour, and no older than three months.
  • No editing of any kind: ICA rules out altered or enhanced images.
  • For online uploads ICA recommends 400 × 514 pixels, in jpg, jpeg, heic, heif or png format, up to 8MB.
  • ICA does not recommend selfies; ask someone else to take the picture.
  • Printed photos should be on matte or semi-matte paper.

From visa approval to your arrival

ICA treats the visa as a pre-arrival clearance only. It is not an immigration pass and does not decide the length of your stay.

The e-Visa

Travel within its validity and keep a copy with the passport you applied with.

Your Visit Pass

When you are admitted, an electronic Visit Pass arrives by email with your permitted stay and final day. That period is not linked to the visa.

Staying longer

ICA states that extending a stay requires an application to extend the Short-Term Visit Pass. The visa itself does not extend it.

Transit through Singapore

ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility does not name Jordan, and this guide offers no transit arrangement. Check with ICA before planning to pass through immigration on a layover.

Applying as a Jordanian family

A family trip means several applications prepared side by side. Small differences between them are easy to miss, so we check the files together.

  • Individual applications

Each family member, children included, is a separate applicant with a separate price.

  • Children’s passports

ICA accepts only individually issued travel documents for travellers of any age. A child cannot travel on a collective document.

  • Mixed passport types

If one parent holds a service or official passport and the rest of the family hold ordinary passports, only the ordinary passport holders need visas.

  • Arabic family records

A birth or marriage certificate is not among ICA’s core documents for Jordan. If ICA requests one, confirm with ICA how an Arabic certificate should be presented.

Avoidable issues in Jordanian applications

These are problems we screen for before anything is submitted. Because ICA weighs every application on its merits, the aim is a clean file, not a guess at outcomes.

  1. Applying with an exempt passport

If you will travel on a diplomatic, official or service passport, ICA says you do not need a visa. Applying on the wrong passport wastes time and money.

  2. Confusing two documents

A Jordanian passport and a Palestinian Authority passport are different travel documents with different ICA guidance. Apply on the one you will actually use.

  3. A photo that has been edited

Beauty filters, retouching or any other alteration conflicts with ICA’s rule that a photo must not be altered or enhanced.

  4. Name order and spelling

An Arabic name can be romanised in more than one way. Copy the passport’s spelling and order onto the form and every booking.

  5. Too little passport validity

A passport that expires within six months of arrival does not meet ICA’s rule. Renew before you apply.

  6. Ignoring a request for more

If ICA asks for Form V39A or another document, a slow reply delays the decision. Respond promptly.

Refund and cancellation terms for Jordanian applicants

A summary of the refund rules for our tourist visa service. The complete text is on our Refund Policy page.

Before submission to ICA

Cancelling before we submit

If you cancel before we submit your application to ICA, a cancellation fee of USD $50 applies per applicant and application.

The fee is deducted from the amount you paid, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law.

After submission to ICA

Once the application is submitted

After submission to ICA, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

A refusal does not by itself make a submitted application refundable.

If you believe a payment was duplicated or charged incorrectly, contact us so that we can review it. Legally required refunds and billing errors are handled separately.

Nothing in these rules limits statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.

Common questions from Jordanian passport holders

Each answer is based either on ICA’s published information or on our own practice, and says which.

Do Jordanians need a visa to visit Singapore?

Ordinary passport holders do. ICA’s Jordan page makes a visa compulsory for Jordanian travel documents, apart from diplomatic, official and service passports.

View the requirements

I travel on a Jordanian service passport. Do I need to apply?

No. ICA’s Jordan page exempts service passports from the visa requirement, along with diplomatic and official ones.

Do I need a letter of introduction?

It is not one of ICA’s three core documents for Jordanian applicants. ICA’s Jordan page lists Form V39A as a supporting document that may be required case by case.

I hold a Palestinian Authority passport. Does this page apply to me?

No. ICA lists the Palestinian Authority passport as a separate travel document that needs a visa. Check ICA’s guidance for that document rather than relying on this page.

Do Arabic documents need an English translation?

ICA’s Jordan page does not set out a translation rule, and the core documents do not need one. If ICA asks for a further document in Arabic, ask ICA how it should be provided.

What size should my photo be?

For uploads through its e-Services, ICA recommends 400 × 514 pixels, in jpg, jpeg, heic, heif or png format, no larger than 8MB. The photo must be recent and unedited.

I work in Saudi Arabia. Can I still apply?

Yes; your place of residence does not change the requirement. An e-Service filing by a strategic partner or local contact works from anywhere, and the Singapore Overseas Mission nearest you, or its authorised visa agent, is another option under that mission’s own procedure.

How far ahead of my trip should I apply?

Aim for the 30 days before you arrive, which is ICA’s advice. ICA’s stated processing time is three working days, not counting submission day, though some take longer.

Can I extend my stay once I am in Singapore?

ICA says an extension requires an application to extend the Short-Term Visit Pass. The length of your stay is set on the Visit Pass issued at entry, not by the visa.

Is the SG Arrival Card a kind of visa?

No. It is a free arrival declaration, separate from the visa, that all travellers must submit unless a narrow exemption applies. It is filed within the three days before arrival, the arrival day included.

About the SG Arrival Card

What happens if I cancel my application?

Before submission to ICA, a USD $50 cancellation fee applies per applicant and application, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law. After submission, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
