Validity of the e-Visa
Travel while it is valid, on the passport used for the application.
🇸🇩Information on Singapore entry for Sudanese passports
Singapore requires a visa for every travel document issued by Sudan, and ICA names no exempt passport type. This information guide explains ICA’s document list, how to deal with Arabic paperwork, the two official ways to submit, and what the e-Visa does and does not cover. It does not offer an application service.
About this page
An explanation of ICA’s published rules for Sudan; nothing is sold or processed here.
ICA processing
ICA states three working days after the day of submission; some cases run longer.
Introduction letter
Form V39A is required, signed by a local contact or, if none is available, issued by your Embassy.
Arabic records
Documents in Arabic need an official English translation from a source ICA accepts.
ICA counts Sudan among the countries needing a Singapore entry visa. A Sudan-issued passport therefore requires an approved visa before travel, whether the purpose is tourism, family or a short business visit.
ICA publishes a separate page for South Sudan. The two are different issuing countries, so the right guidance is the one for the country named on your passport. This page covers documents issued by Sudan.
ICA’s Sudan page does not exempt any passport category. It makes no mention of diplomatic, official or service passports, so anyone holding one should get ICA’s confirmation first.
This guide summarises ICA’s published requirements for readers’ information. It offers no application service and takes no payment. Visas and admission are decided solely by the Singapore authorities.

If you are short of time, start with the two items that depend on other people: Form V39A and any official translations.
Below, ICA’s Sudan guidance is applied to typical situations. These notes describe the published rule and do not predict the outcome of any application.
A Sudan-issued ordinary passport requires a visa, and the requirements below apply.
Living abroad does not change the requirement for a Sudanese passport. It only affects which Singapore mission or appointed agent is within reach.
Travel documents issued by South Sudan fall under ICA’s South Sudan guidance, not this page.
The Sudan page states no exemption; ICA can confirm how such passports are treated.
A passport expiring within six months of the planned arrival does not meet ICA’s rule, so renew it or plan travel dates accordingly.
Business visitors need a Form V39A signed on behalf of the Singapore-registered entity they will meet.
These are general suggestions only. They are not ICA requirements and have no bearing on ICA’s decision.
ICA’s listed documents and its translation rule come first. Documents ICA may ask for in a particular case follow.
ICA requirement
Every answer in Form 14A feeds into ICA’s assessment, and ICA reserves the right to see the signed form. Sign it and keep the original safe.
ICA requirement
Colour, passport-sized and no more than three months old, following ICA’s photo guidelines.
ICA requirement
The passport page showing your photo and particulars, from a passport that will be valid for at least six more months when you arrive.
ICA requirement
ICA lists the letter of introduction for Sudan. Its signatory, your local contact, has to be a Singaporean or PR of 21 or over who uses Singpass, and for business trips must represent the Singapore company involved.
Where no local contact can help, ICA accepts a letter issued by your Embassy for social and business visits.
ICA requirement for non-English records
Sudanese records may be in Arabic or English. English ones go in as they are; for an Arabic record, or one in any other language, ICA requires an official English translation submitted with the original and a copy it can keep.
Where the record comes from Sudan, ICA recognises translations made by Sudan’s embassy or a notary public in Sudan or Singapore. A privately produced translation counts once it carries the embassy’s attestation or such a notary’s notarisation. No private translation business has ICA’s endorsement.
Practical point · not an ICA rule
ICA’s list for Sudan does not mention hotel bookings or tickets, though it may request further supporting documents case by case. Having your accommodation and travel arrangements confirmed, and matching the dates you declare, makes it easier to respond if asked.
Case by case · ICA may request
ICA may ask for more and notes that a file with insufficient documentation may not be accepted. Additional Arabic records follow the same translation rule.
For illustration, see the sample passport scan and photograph on our general requirements page.
General requirements pageICA can request further documents in any application; a complete set supports the file without deciding it.
ICA allows two channels. Its e-Service can be used on your behalf by a strategic partner or a local contact based in Singapore; alternatively, a Singapore Overseas Mission accepts applications directly or through an agent it appoints, under the mission’s own published procedure. Applications cannot be made at the immigration counter. A practical order of preparation:
Step 1
Confirm that it was issued by Sudan and will remain valid for six months beyond arrival.
Step 2
Ask someone in Singapore who satisfies ICA’s conditions, or fall back on your Embassy.
Step 3
Only for records not in English, and only through sources ICA accepts.
Step 4
Use your names exactly as the passport prints them in Latin letters.
Step 5
Choose the e-Service, through a strategic partner or Singapore contact, or a Singapore mission and its agent.
Step 6
An approved application results in an e-Visa, which the party that filed it can print from the e-Service.
Submit during the 30 days before you are due to arrive, as ICA recommends, and keep a duplicate of everything you send.
ICA’s requirements here are a passport with six months to run and a photograph no older than three months. The rest are suggestions.
ICA requirement
Check the expiry date: at least six months must remain after the day you land in Singapore.
Copy the complete data page, including the photo and the two machine-readable lines, without glare.
Sudanese passports may print long names with several parts. Keep every part, in the same order, on forms and bookings, even where a booking system offers less space.
ICA requirement
ICA wants a recent colour photo of passport size, no older than three months, made to its photo guidelines without editing or enhancement. Practical checks:
An approved e-Visa lets you make the journey and ask to be admitted. It is not an immigration pass, ICA notes, and your permitted stay is decided at the checkpoint.
Travel while it is valid, on the passport used for the application.
Shown on the electronic Visit Pass emailed on entry, and not tied to how long the visa is valid.
Staying beyond the permitted period requires a separate extension application to ICA.
ICA notifies visitors of their electronic Visit Pass by email, so the SG Arrival Card should carry a working email address.
Sudanese passports are not covered by the Visa-Free Transit Facility; ask ICA first if a connection would take you through immigration.
A family trip means one visa application per traveller, with each person’s documents prepared separately.
Every parent and child needs their own application.
ICA does not accept collective travel documents; each child needs an individually issued passport.
An Arabic birth or marriage certificate included in a child’s or spouse’s file must be officially translated into English and sent with its original and a copy.
Keep travel dates and accommodation the same across the family’s applications.
These preparation points help keep an application accurate. ICA decides each case on its own merits.
Dropping a part of a long name on Form 14A or a booking creates a mismatch with the passport.
A record in Arabic must be accompanied by an official English translation.
Sudan and South Sudan are separate ICA pages; follow the one that matches your passport.
ICA wants copies it can keep, as well as originals and translations.
The Sudan page states none for any passport category.
If your passport was renewed, make sure Form 14A, Form V39A and any bookings carry the new number.
Business-visit letters signed by a personal acquaintance do not meet ICA’s condition.
Answers drawn from ICA’s published guidance. This page is for information only.
Yes. ICA’s Sudan page makes a visa compulsory for every Sudan-issued travel document, with no exempt passport category.
No. South Sudan has its own ICA page; the right one depends on which country issued your passport.
Through Sudan’s embassy, a notary public in Sudan or Singapore, or a private translator whose translation the embassy then attests or the notary notarises.
Yes, as a fallback. If no one in Singapore can sign, the Sudan page lets your Embassy issue the letter for a social or business trip.
From Egypt, an application can still be filed online for you by a strategic partner or a Singapore contact, or handed in through a Singapore mission in the region or the agent it authorises.
ICA’s published guide is three working days after the submission day, though some files need longer.
No. Immigration counters in Singapore do not accept visa applications, according to ICA; the visa must be approved before you fly.
None by itself. The permitted number of days is decided by ICA when you arrive and stated on your electronic Visit Pass.
No facility of that kind applies to Sudanese passports. ICA should be consulted before you book a connection that involves going landside.
Yes. The card is free and separate from the visa. Unless exempt, every traveller files it during the three days up to and including arrival day.
ICA requires at least six months of validity from the date of entry, so a passport with five months left would not meet the requirement. Renewal comes first.
Each family member needs an individual application and an individually issued travel document; ICA does not accept collective travel documents.
ICA says the local contact, strategic partner or authorised visa agent who lodged the application can print it from the e-Service.
No. This is an information page about ICA’s published requirements. Applications are made through the ICA channels described above.
Check the passport’s issuer and validity, arrange Form V39A and any translations of Arabic records, and choose one of the ICA channels described above.
