🇹🇳Short-visit visa guidance for passports issued by Tunisia

Singapore Visa for Tunisian Citizens

Travellers on an ordinary Tunisian passport must have a Singapore visa before they fly. Two things shape most Tunisian applications: a letter of introduction on Form V39A, which ICA includes in the standard list, and supporting records written in Arabic or French, neither of which ICA accepts without an official English translation.

  • From $130 USD

    Price per person

One all-inclusive US dollar amount, government visa fee included.

  • 5–7 working days · 3–5 days

    Normal or express

Two speeds for our handling, kept apart from ICA’s own timeline.

  • Letter of introduction

Form V39A is a standard item for Tunisian passports.

  • Two languages to translate

Arabic and French records both need an accepted English version.

How Singapore treats a Tunisian passport

Tunisia is one of the countries on ICA’s visa-required list. ICA looks at the country that issued the travel document, so anyone presenting a Tunisian passport needs an approved visa for a short visit, whether it is a holiday, time with family or a business meeting.

ICA’s Tunisia page names two passport categories that are exempt: diplomatic passports and special passports. If yours is an ordinary passport, the exemption does not reach you. If you are not sure which category your passport falls into, check the type shown in it and confirm with ICA before relying on an exemption.

For ordinary passport holders, the Tunisia list is a little longer than for some other nationalities. Alongside Form 14A, a recent photograph and a copy of the data page, ICA expects a completed Form V39A, the letter of introduction. Who may sign it is set out below.

Language is the other theme. Tunisian civil records, bank letters and employer documents may be issued in Arabic, French or a mix of both. ICA’s rule is simple: any document not in English needs an official translation, and French is treated no differently from Arabic.

We review the file, keep names and dates consistent across every document, and lodge it through a channel ICA recognises. The decision on the visa belongs to ICA, as does the decision on entry when you land.

What we do on a Tunisian application

  • Letter of introduction review

We compare Form V39A with your Form 14A so that names, passport number and travel dates agree.

  • Language sorting

Each record is marked as English, Arabic or French, and only the non-English ones go for translation.

  • Spelling consistency

Bookings are matched to the French-style Latin spelling printed in your passport.

  • Submission and outcome

We lodge the finished application and email you ICA’s decision.

Start with Form V39A. It relies on a local contact or on your Embassy, and the rest of the file can be prepared while you wait for it.

Tunisian travellers in different situations

The cases below show how ICA’s Tunisia guidance applies in practice. They explain the published rules and are not a forecast of any decision.

  • Ordinary passport holders in Tunis, Sfax, Sousse or Bizerte

A visa is needed for a visit, and the full document list on this page applies.

  • Tunisians resident in France, Italy, Germany or the Gulf

Living abroad affects where it is convenient to file, but a Tunisian passport still needs a Singapore visa.

  • Holders of diplomatic or special passports

ICA exempts both categories on its Tunisia page. Entry is still assessed at the checkpoint.

  • Dual nationals

If you also hold another country’s passport, the rules follow the passport you actually travel on. Use the same one for the application, bookings and the journey.

  • Business visitors

For meetings or negotiations, the Form V39A signatory must act on behalf of the Singapore-registered business you are visiting.

What ICA publishes for Tunisia

  • A visa is required for Tunisia-issued travel documents, apart from diplomatic and special passports.
  • A completed Form V39A is on the standard list, signed by a qualifying local contact or, failing that, issued by your Embassy.
  • Every non-English document needs an official English translation, the original and a copy.
  • The passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of entry.

Our own file standards

  • Identical spelling of every name across forms, tickets and the hotel booking.
  • Confirmed hotel and transport bookings that meet our checklist.
  • Prices and service estimates applied exactly as published.
  • Our published cancellation and refund terms.

These are our working standards for a clean, consistent file. ICA decides independently of them, and nothing we do can secure a visa or entry.

Documents for a Tunisian visa application

The first four items are ICA’s standard list for Tunisia. After them come the translation rule, documents ICA may request, and our accommodation standard.

  1. ICA requirement

    Form 14A, completed and signed

ICA bases its assessment on what you declare in Form 14A, and it may ask you to submit the signed form. Answer every question, sign, and keep the original safe.

  2. ICA requirement

    Recent colour photograph

A passport-sized colour photograph taken within the last three months, following ICA’s photo guidelines.

  3. ICA requirement

    Passport data-page copy

A readable photocopy of the biodata page. The passport must remain valid for at least six months from the day you enter Singapore.

  4. ICA requirement

    Form V39A, letter of introduction

A local contact in Singapore may issue it. ICA requires that person to be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, aged 21 or over, with a Singpass account. For a business visit, the local contact must be acting on behalf of the Singapore-registered business entity.

If you cannot obtain a letter from a local contact, ICA also accepts a letter of introduction issued by your Embassy, for both social and business visits.

  5. Conditional · ICA rule for non-English records

    Arabic and French documents

A birth certificate in Arabic, a bank statement in French or a bilingual employment letter all count as non-English. Each must be submitted with an official English translation, the original, and a copy for ICA to retain.

For a document issued in Tunisia, ICA accepts a translation made by the Embassy of Tunisia, one made by a notary public in Tunisia or Singapore, or a private translation later attested by that embassy or notarised by such a notary. ICA does not endorse private translation companies.

  6. Case by case · ICA may request

    Additional supporting documents

ICA may ask for further documents in a particular case, and insufficient documentation may lead to the application not being accepted. Any extra non-English item needs translating in the same way.

  7. Our submission standard

    Hotel and travel bookings

We require a confirmed booking of at least three nights at a hotel of three stars or more, and confirmed transport into and out of Singapore. Staying with friends or in a private rental does not replace the hotel booking under our standard.

Our requirements page has sample images of a suitable passport data page and photograph.

Requirements checklist

ICA may request more information at any stage. A complete file supports the assessment; it does not decide it.

Visa prices for Tunisian applicants

Prices are per person, in US dollars, and each one already includes the ICA government visa fee and our professional service charge; we do not split them into separate charges. Choose your requested entry type and service speed from the table.

How long a Tunisian application takes

Two clocks run one after the other. Ours starts when your complete file reaches us; ICA’s starts after submission. Neither guarantees a particular date.

Normal service

Our estimate

5–7 working days

A good fit when Form V39A is signed and translations are already done.

Express service

Our estimate

3–5 days

We prioritise your file for a higher price; ICA’s processing is not shortened.

  • ICA’s processing guide

Three working days, not counting the submission day. Some applications need longer, and each one is judged on its own merits.

  • Two items to start early

Form V39A and any Arabic or French translations depend on other people, so arrange both as soon as your dates are fixed.

  • When to submit

ICA advises applying within the 30 days before you arrive in Singapore.

Steps from Tunis, or from abroad, to an e-Visa

ICA offers two routes: its e-Service, used by a strategic partner or by a local contact in Singapore, or the nearest Singapore Overseas Mission or its authorised visa agent, following that mission’s procedure. Visa applications are not accepted at Singapore’s immigration counters. Working with us looks like this:

  1. Step 1

    Confirm passport type and validity

Check that it is an ordinary Tunisian passport, valid six months past your arrival date.

  2. Step 2

    Secure Form V39A

Ask a qualifying local contact, or your Embassy if no local contact can help.

  3. Step 3

    Translate Arabic and French records

Use the Embassy of Tunisia, a notary, or a private translation that one of them certifies.

  4. Step 4

    Fill in Form 14A

Copy every name from the passport in the same spelling and order, then sign.

  5. Step 5

    Our check, then payment

We review the file, send you any corrections, and you pay the price for your entry type and speed.

  6. Step 6

    Submission and the e-Visa

We submit to ICA. An approved visa is issued as an e-Visa that the filing party prints from the e-Service.

Bring the printed e-Visa and your passport when you travel, and keep copies on your phone.

Checks on the Tunisian passport and photo

The validity and recent-photo requirements are ICA’s. We add a few checks of our own.

ICA requirement

Passport

Find your planned arrival date, add six months, and make sure your passport expires after that.

Scan the whole data page so the photo, the personal details and the machine-readable zone are all legible.

Latin spellings of Tunisian names often follow French conventions, such as “ch” where English writes “sh”. Whatever your passport prints, keep that exact spelling, including particles such as “Ben”, on every form and booking.

ICA requirement

Photograph

In colour, passport-sized, taken in the last three months and in line with ICA’s photo guidelines, which do not allow altered or enhanced images. We also check for:

  • A photo less than three months old.
  • A plain, pale background.
  • Face fully visible and facing forward.
  • No editing, smoothing or filters.
  • Sharp focus and even light.
  • For phone photos, ICA advises against selfies and suggests a dedicated passport-photo app.

Using the e-Visa, the length of stay, and transit

An approved visa lets you travel to Singapore and ask to be admitted. ICA is clear that the visa is not an immigration pass, and that the stay is determined at the checkpoint.

Before departure

Confirm the e-Visa is still valid and that its details match the passport you are carrying.

Period of stay

ICA grants an electronic Visit Pass on arrival and notifies it by email. The stay it allows is not tied to the visa’s validity.

Admission

Officers at the checkpoint decide whether to admit you. Holding a visa does not guarantee entry.

Longer stays

To stay beyond the period granted, you apply to ICA to extend the Short-Term Visit Pass. The e-Visa does not extend it.

No visa-free transit for Tunisians

Tunisia is not among the nationalities ICA names for its Visa-Free Transit Facility. If a stopover means passing immigration, plan for a visa.

Connecting airside

ICA counts as transit travellers those who connect without clearing arrival immigration. If your airline requires you to collect bags or check in again, you will need to meet entry requirements.

Tunisian families travelling together

ICA assesses every family member as an individual applicant, so each person needs a complete file with their own details.

  • Individual passports

Children travel on their own passports. ICA requires an individually issued document for each traveller and refuses collective ones.

  • Separate applications

Every family member is filed and priced separately.

  • A letter for each person

Make sure each Form V39A names the correct traveller and carries that person’s passport details.

  • Translated family records

A birth or marriage certificate in Arabic or French that links family members needs an accepted English translation.

What our review catches on Tunisian files

We look for the following before submission. ICA weighs each application on its own merits; the aim here is an accurate file, not a forecast.

  1. Leaving French documents untranslated

French is not English. A French-language bank letter needs an accepted translation just like an Arabic certificate.

  2. Signatory who does not qualify

The local contact must be a Singapore citizen or PR, at least 21, with Singpass. For business, they must act for the Singapore company.

  3. Spellings that drift

“Mohamed”, “Mohammed” and “Muhammad” are different strings to a booking system. Use the passport’s version everywhere.

  4. Dropped name particles

If the passport includes “Ben” or a compound surname, keep every part in the same order on forms and tickets.

  5. Counting validity from the wrong day

Six months are measured from your entry into Singapore.

  6. Missing copies

ICA asks for copies to retain, alongside originals and translations.

Cancellation terms for Tunisian applicants

Our cancellation and refund rules for tourist visa applications, summarised; the complete terms are on the Refund Policy page.

Before submission to ICA

Cancelling before we submit

If you cancel before we submit your application to ICA, a cancellation fee of USD $50 applies per applicant and application.

The fee is deducted from the amount you paid, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law.

After submission to ICA

Once the application is submitted

After submission to ICA, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

A refusal does not by itself make a submitted application refundable.

If you believe a payment was duplicated or charged incorrectly, contact us so that we can review it. Legally required refunds and billing errors are handled separately.

Nothing in these rules limits statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.

Tunisian applicants’ common questions

Short answers, each marked as ICA’s guidance or our own practice.

Is a visa needed for Singapore on a Tunisian passport?

Yes, for an ordinary passport. ICA’s Tunisia page requires a visa for Tunisia-issued travel documents and exempts only diplomatic and special passports.

View the requirements

What counts as a special passport?

ICA’s page uses the term without defining it further. If your passport is not an ordinary one and you are unsure of its category, confirm with ICA before travelling without a visa.

Who can sign my Form V39A?

Under ICA’s Tunisia guidance, a Singapore citizen or permanent resident aged 21 or above with Singpass. For a business visit, that person must be acting on behalf of the Singapore-registered business.

I do not know anyone in Singapore. What then?

ICA accepts a letter of introduction issued by your Embassy for social and business visits when you cannot get one from a local contact.

Do documents in French need translating?

Yes. ICA’s rule covers every language other than English, so French documents need an official English translation just as Arabic ones do.

Who can translate my Tunisian documents?

ICA accepts translations by the Embassy of Tunisia or by a notary public in Tunisia or Singapore, and private translations that the embassy attests or such a notary notarises.

I live in Paris. Where can I apply?

Your application can be filed online by a strategic partner or local contact, or at the Singapore Overseas Mission that serves you or through its authorised visa agent.

My name is spelled several ways on different documents. Which do I use?

As our practice, the spelling in your passport, including every part of the surname in the printed order. Tickets and the hotel booking should match it.

Can I leave the airport on a stopover without a visa?

No visa-free option applies: Tunisia is not covered by ICA’s Visa-Free Transit Facility. Connecting without clearing immigration is a different matter, so ask your airline whether you can stay airside.

How long will ICA take?

ICA’s guide is three working days, excluding the day of submission, and some cases take longer. Our normal and express estimates are for our own stage and are separate.

Is the SG Arrival Card part of the visa?

No. It is a separate, free submission made within three days before arrival, including the arrival day. Use a valid email address, because ICA sends your electronic Visit Pass by email.

About the SG Arrival Card

Can I cancel a Tunisian application after paying?

Before submission to ICA, a USD $50 cancellation fee applies per applicant and application, and the remaining eligible amount is refunded, subject to applicable law. After submission, the paid visa service fee is non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
